This Ordering Guide is meant to assist physicians when ordering a medical imaging exam with Quantum Radiology. The guide includes common indications as well as recommendations for the most appropriate examination.

Dural venous sinus thrombosis CT Venogram Head or MRV Head without and with IV contrast
Dysphagia CT Neck with IV contrast
Failed Back syndrome MRI lumbar spine without and with IV contrast
Headaches CT Head without contrast or MRI Brain without contrast (if concern for malignancy or infection then MRI Brain without and with IV contrast)
Hearing loss MRI Brain (IAC protocol) without and with IV contrast
Hoarseness CT Neck with IV contrast
Horner's syndrome CTA Neck or CT Neck with IV contrast (depending on suspected etiology)
Intracranial aneurysm CTA Head or MRA Head without IV contrast (add IV contrast if history of treated aneurysm)
Intracranial hemorrhage CT Head without contrast
Low back pain, sciatica, radiculopathy MRI of the lumbar spine without IV contrast (add IV contrast if history of lumbar surgery, concern for malignancy or infection)
Mastoiditis CT Temporal bone without IV contrast (if concern for complication such as intracranial extension or abscess perform only with IV contrast)
Meningitis MRI Brain without and with IV contrast
Metastatic disease to spine MRI Cervical, throacic, or lumbar spine without and with IV contrast
