Don’t let knee pain limit your life.

Quantum Radiology offers two simple, minimally invasive outpatient treatments that can ease knee pain, reduce swelling, and help you move more comfortably.

No major surgery. No long recovery.

What Causes Knee Pain?

Knee pain is often caused by osteoarthritis, a condition that wears down the cartilage in your knee joint. This can lead to pain, swelling, and stiffness that make it hard to walk, climb stairs, or enjoy daily activities.

Our interventional radiologists use advanced, image-guided procedures to target and treat the source of pain — helping you get back to what you love faster.

Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE)

Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE) is a safe, minimally invasive treatment for people with early to moderate knee osteoarthritis.

During this procedure, our interventional radiologist will use fluoroscopy equipment to identify and gently block the very small abnormal blood vessels that are a source of inflammation and pain.

Benefits of GAE:

  • Pain relief often begins within a few weeks and lasts 1-2 years
  • Easier walking, climbing, and standing
  • Can delay or reduce the need for invasive knee replacement surgery
  • Outpatient procedure with no hospital stay

You may benefit from GAE if you:

  • Have knee pain lasting 3 months or longer
  • Tried medications, therapy, or injections without relief
  • Want a minimally invasive option for lasting pain relief
Genicular Nerve Ablation (GNA)

Genicular Nerve Ablation (GNA) is another minimally invasive knee pain treatment that can help people with diffused pain, nonlocalized and moderate osteoarthritis feel better and move more freely.

Our interventional radiologist will use gentle heat energy to treat the tiny genicular nerves that send pain signals from the knee to the brain. This reduces pain and improves movement — without cuts or stitches.

Benefits of GNA:

  • Noticeable pain relief that can last 6–12 months
  • Better balance and easier movement
  • Quick recovery and repeatable if pain returns

You may benefit from GNA if you:

  • Have chronic knee pain that has not improved with other treatments
  • Want to avoid or delay surgery
  • Still have knee pain after replacement surgery (in some cases)
