Dr. Byrd graduated from Princeton University in 1991 and then received his medical degree from Medical College of Virginia in 1995 (currently named Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine). After a year of medicine and surgery internship in 1996, Dr. Byrd completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Yale University (Yale-New Haven Hospital) in 2000. While at Yale, he was elected as the Chief Resident and a member of the admissions committee. Dr. Byrd then completed additional training in a Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship at Yale University in 2001. He was in a practice in Texas from 2001 through 2003, and joined Roswell Radiology Associates (RRA) in Roswell, GA in 2003 (this group has provided coverage at WellStar North Fulton Hospital), where he has been a partner, past Chairman of the group and a medical staff leader. He and his RRA group joined Quantum Radiology in January of 2019. During his many years at WellStar North Fulton Hospital, Dr. Byrd has been and continues to be a medical staff leader (including Chief of Staff and leader of the Cancer Committee), and a member of many committees focused on improving patient care. Dr. Byrd is very passionate about his patients, and has a reputation for great communication with colleagues, his patients and their families. He has proven to be an excellent and well liked member of the medical staff during his entire career, and is very excited to now be a part of the Quantum Radiology team. Even with such a demanding career life, Dr. Byrd always maintains a strong focus on his faith, his dear wife and kids and family, and the goal to maintain a positive outlook on life and to always treat others as we ourselves wish to be treated.
